Financial Crisis? - this may cheer you up

Or maybe not. The number of billionaires in the world has apparently increased to 1,011. I am tempted to enter into discussion on the ethics of financial inequality, but fear it may take longer than the time I available.
There are now 1,011 billionaires, compared with 793 last year and 1,125 in 2008. Whilst this may leave some of us feeling slightly inadequate financially, it is an indicator of the way the financial crisis has impacted investors – on the positive side it shows things have recovered quite well, as evidenced by the ‘recovery’ in the number of billionaires.
As an aside I tried to imagine what $53bn would look like, the richest two people in the world being worth $53bn or thereabouts – imagine a pot of a million pounds, and then a thousand of them. And then 53 lots of that. Nope, I couldn’t do it.
